John and Sally took 13 walkers for a 4.5 mile walk, starting from the Village Hall in the village of Brimpsfield. We were blessed with a beautiful warm, sunny morning, but the paths were very wet and slippery from rain over the last few days.
Walking through woodland and hidden valleys, we came to Caudle Green and then returned to our starting point before driving to The Royal George at Birdlip for our lunch.

Fifteen members drove to the National Star Centre at Ullenwood and Mary took us on a 6.8 mile walk across Charlton Kings Common, Leckhampton Hill and on to Seven Springs before returning via the pretty village of Coberley.

Although quite long, the walk was fairly easy with only a few stiles. The weather was warm and mainly dry, perfect for walking.

We returned to the Star Centre for our meal.

July RG – Eastcombe

Eastcombe – Toadsmoor – Lypiatt

led by Elspeth & Caroline (see a copy of the poster here)

Starting from The Lamb at Eastcombe, this is a 4-5 mile walk which takes us down through the Toadsmoor valley, before uphill paths through woods, fields and lanes bring us to the Lypiatts.

Several stiles and some overgrown paths.

Lunch at The Lamb, Eastcombe.
A copy of the menu is at the Library or can be seen on their website here.

Menu choices need to be in by Sunday 23rd July.

The 4.8 mile walk started at The Lamb Inn, Eastcombe and took us down through the Toadsmoor Valley and woods, before climbing up to open ground at Lypiatt with views over the Stroud Valleys and the Severn beyond.
More woodland paths took us back towards Eastcombe but unfortunately three of us got attacked by stinging insects resulting in Angela going to A&E.
Nevertheless, we enjoyed the walk and stayed dry which was a bonus.
