When Inspector Tanner is called in to investigate a ruthless murder at Mark’s Priory, the grand ancestral home of the Lebanon family, he quickly discovers that nothing is quite as it seems. The household is controlled by the family physician, the footmen behave more like guests than servants and the secretary Isla is afraid for her life. As Tanner moves closer to the heart of the mystery he uncovers a shocking and closely guarded secret…

Edgar Wallace’s gripping page-turners are regarded as the bedrock of the modern thriller and The Case of the Frightened Lady remains one of his most celebrated works.

Anyone interested should contact the group organiser, Gordon Wyles, or add their name to the list held in the TIC.

Twelve members enjoyed a 4.2 mile walk led by Mike Harvey.
We started from near The Hare and Hounds at Westonbirt, and we walked alongside the Polo club, meeting some of the horses before walking alongside the perimeter of the old Arboretum.
We took the Macmillan Way through the Silk Wood and then crossed fields to reach the pretty hamlet of Willesley, before returning via the grounds of Westonbirt School.
Thankfully the hot weather of the last week had abated and we enjoyed cool breezy conditions, ideal for our walk.

Nine of us enjoyed a 5.2 mile walk starting at The Dog Inn, Old Sodbury. The weather was dry and very humid. Stuart led us on a walk that took in parts of The Jubilee Way, Monarch Way and The Cotswold Way. It was a fairly flat walk with one steep climb followed by a descent which led to St John The Baptist church at Old Sodbury. After walking through the church grounds we were met with a magnificent view across the Severn Valley. On returning to the pub all nine of us enjoyed a well deserved drink and meal.
