April RG – Berkeley, Whitcliff Deer Park

Thursday 28th April
Ramblers Group

Berkeley (Ham) – Whitcliff Deer Park
led by Angela Middleditch & Jane Hutton (view poster here)

The April ramble was a 4.5 mile walk from Ham near Berkeley, along a quiet country lane and across farmland to the elevated ridge of the Whitcliff Deer Park, part of the Berkeley Estate.  We saw both Red and Fallow deer, as well as good views over the Severn Estuary on one side, and on the other views over to the Cotswold Hills and Tyndale’s Monument.

March RG – Randwick, Haresfield, Oxlynch

Thursday 24th March
Ramblers Group

Randwick – Haresfield Beacon – Oxlynch – led by Caroline Crook and Elspeth Williams (view poster here)

Our ramble started from The Vine Tree at Randwick, from where we walked for 4 miles, up through woodland paths, along the Cotswold Way in the direction of Haresfield Beacon.  The route took us down through fields to Oxlynch, through a farmyard before a steep climb across fields and back to the woods which eventually led us back to Randwick.  Although dry at first, a steady drizzle set in but the heavy rain waited until we were safely inside the pub having lunch.

February RG – Mystery Walk!

Thursday 25th February
Ramblers Group

Local Mystery Walk – led by Mike Harvey (view poster here)

We had our first ramble today.  So lucky with the weather!  It  was a 7 mile local walk from Nailsworth, up through Box onto the Common, across to Burleigh, on to Winstones Ice Cream shop, then back via Amberley and Theesecombe.  A good meal as always at Egypt Mill.
